Packaginginstructions

Diagnostic specimen by letter post

Since 1 January 2003 the regulations for packaging and sending diagnostic samples have changed. The regulations in accordance with UN3373 and packaging instruction P650 (ADR) now apply. Besides these regulations, TPG-Post has laid down additional requirements for the acceptance of diagnostic samples as letter post.

To meet these requirements, combination packaging is necessary, consisting of a primary and secondary fluid-proof packaging, sufficient absorbent material for the contents, shock absorbing material and a sufficiently strong outer packaging.
The combination packaging, as described below, has been tested for these requirements by TNO and approved by TPG-post for sending diagnostic samples from risk catogory B as letter post.

Step 1
Seal primary fluid-proof packaging properly and wrap with sufficient absorbent material. Make sure that the cap is also wrapped up.

Step 2
Place primary packaging with absorbent material in a Transportblister pack. Seal transport blister pack properly
Step 3
Place transport blister pack with contents in the fluid-proof Safetybag. Remove the cover strip from the Safety bag and press down front and back well.
Step 4
Place Safetybag in a Polymed case and seal the Polymed case with the zipper. Your diagnostic sample is now ready to be sent as letter post (maximum format: 380 x 265 x 32 mm).
